The area around the Villa is a hiker's paradise. There are a lot of gold mines nearby that make great one day hikes. There are also palm canyons with pools of cool water in the mountains west of town. Finally there are hikes along the waterfront both north and south of the Villa. The terrain, the plants, and the animals of the Baja make a fascinating hike.
