Things to Do
From
May to November, the bay is the home to the magnificent whale shark,
the largest of all fishes. These gentle giants can reach 30 feet in
length, but are not dangerous to humans since they eat tiny life forms
such as krill, and have a baleen, not teeth. They seem to like swimmers
and kayakers, and you can interact with them freely. There are few places left that permit
swimming with the whale sharks, but Bahia de los Angeles is one of
them. Take advantage of the opportunity while you can. The whale sharks
are easily reached, and the water in the bay is usually calm and flat,
so even less experienced swimmers can participate. It is a chance of a lifetime, and this
is the best place on earth to do it.
